A Trip To Turkey: Day 5 Izmir and Ephesus

We headed out to the House of the Virgin Mary, and to historical Ephesus. Near the House of the Virgin Mary was a long wall filled with messages and notes from the many visitors that have passed by over the years. Karen and I wrote our own messages and attached them to the wall.

Ephesus was a fantastic place to visit. Though it was filled with tourists, I managed to get some good shots. Oh and of course there cats, lots of cats.

Turkey has fantastic driving roads. Unfortunately I experienced them all from a tour bus. During this day to some historical sites, we went up through the mountains and there were gorgeous windy curving roads. It would of been fantastic if I was in a small sports car attacking the corners. It would of been glorious!

Mado is a chain of dessert shops in Turkey, specializing in fresh ice cream. Turkish ice cream is different in that it is a lot stickier than North American ice cream. Karen still preferred the ice cream that we have back home. I first heard of Mado from our guide Ahmet and later from others in our tour group that came highly recommended. After getting lost a few times looking for Mado, we eventually found it. From the outside it looked more like a small cafe. Nice and quaint.

As a car enthusiast and founder of the car photography site Artofstance, I always have my eyes out for unique modified cars. Saw this clean example while walking through the markets. A clean Honda Civic EK hatch and a little Euro hatch, I believe it was a Skoda or Peugeot.
